About WHF

"In short, the Wounded Heroes Fund is here to help. In order to be successful though, we rely on the community. We are simply a conduit for you."

As a wounded veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, I have been blessed to be welcomed home by such a thankful Nation. The people and the government of America are all doing their best to ensure that our return is as pleasant, smooth, and as all-encompassing as possible.

Government agencies have been created and hundreds of non-profit organizations have popped up to help vets in their own way. These agencies and non-profits have all been created with a specific purpose in mind, but unfortunately there just can’t be an entity for every possible situation that might occur in the life of a veteran.

This is where the Wounded Heroes Fund steps in. Founded by the daughter of a Vietnam veteran who had struggled to find ways to help her father, WHF serves as a vessel for a thankful community — a go-between for people who desperately want to help and veterans who desperately need it.

The cases that come in front of the Board of Directors are as varied as the very veterans that serve our country. From travel expenses, to mortgage help, assistance in moving from military installations, help finding a new home, or help retrofitting a home for wheelchair accessibility. WHF will not turn a case away based simply on its “theme”.

Beyond just monetary assistance, WHF provides a web of connections within the community that can be as valuable, or more so, than any amount of money. WHF has connected veterans with employers, and encouraged doctors to donate their services pro bono; in fact many of the fruits of the fund are born from our powers of persuasion.

In short, the Wounded Heroes Fund is here to help. In order to be successful though, we rely on the community. We are simply a conduit for you. So please, next time you can give, please think of the Wounded Heroes Fund. And, if you might be a Wounded Hero yourself never hesitate to contact us.

Thank You,

Cpl. Evan Morgan
